Day 1 - Cycle 70 km to Truro

Group # 2 assembled and ready to go. The day looks good with cool start at 11C and mostly clear. The day warmed as the day progressed. Beautiful farm lands and rolling hills to enjoy on the way. Did encounter some major pot holes along sections of the highway which kept us on our toes.

Highlight!!!!!

Brookfield Bakery

One of those good old fashioned family bakeries with Apple, Cherry or blueberry turn overs, cookies of every sort and exotics like Whoopee pies. And good old fashioned prices. You bought 4 and 5 items and still got change back from a 5 dollar bill.

Arrived at 12:30 with enough time to check in and meet Les for 1pm.

Highlight: The Tidal Bore.

Or

Waiting for the Tidal Bore

And

There it goes??????

Really!!!

Did you Know?
Nova Scotia's Amazing Tides are among the most wondrous sights In Nova Scotia. The phenomenon takes place twice daily along the Bay of Fundy shores. 115 billion tons of water pour into this vast funnel over a 235km long. During a full moon the tide can rise as high as 53 ft.
One of the magnificent wonders of the world is the tidal bore which occurs when the incoming tide forms a wall of water rushing up the month of the North River in the opposite direction of the rivers flow. One of the best places to see the Tidal Bore is in Truro
